MDMLG Winter Program and Business Meeting - February 10th

TOPIC: "From Bordeaux to BiDil: How Science and Medicine Invented Race" presented by Prasad Venugopal, PhD, Associate Professor, University of Detroit Mercy

DATE/TIME: Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 1:00-3:00pm 

            1:00 – 2:15 pm Program

2:15 - 2:20 pm Short break         

            2:20 – 3:00 pm Business Meeting

PRESENTER: Dr. Venugopal is an Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Detroit Mercy. In addition to physics, his areas of expertise include racial issues in science and technology. Dr. Venugopal serves as a member of the advisory committee of the African American Studies program at the university and, with the help of a Jesuit 100 Grant, he developed and teaches an interdisciplinary course titled Science, Technology and Race.

Nominating Committee is Looking for Individuals Interested in Serving on the Executive Board and the Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee is still accepting nominations for several open positions on the MDMLG Executive Board and the Nominating Committee.  Please feel free to nominate yourself for one of the open positions.  It’s a great way to get more involved in the work of the Metropolitan Detroit Medical Library Group.  And it looks good on your CV as well!  😊
