Join us for fresh air, scenic trails, and lovely conversation at our upcoming Fall Hike & Picnic Social Networking Event! Whether you are an experienced trekker or just looking for a relaxing afternoon outdoors, there’s something for everyone. Family and furry friends are welcome!
Event Details
- Date: Saturday, September 19, 2026 (Rain Date: Saturday, September 26, 2026)
- Time: 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Location: Island Lake State Park - Kent Lake Picnic Area (13167 Kent Lake Beach Rd, Brighton, MI) — Meeting at the picnic area near the 3rd (Blue Bird) parking lot after you enter the park (see Kent Lake Picnic Area map for details)
Schedule
- 11:30 AM: Meet & Greet / Check in
- 12:00 - 1:00 PM: MDMLG picnic and socializing
- 1:00 PM: Hike in small groups (choose your own trail and distance); or chill by the lake with family/friends or a good book!
- 3:00 PM: Official MDMLG Fall Social Networking event concludes. Please inform PPDC members whether you intend to leave or wish to stay longer.
What to Bring
- Your own lunch (We will provide light refreshments, fresh fruit, and bottled water; you’re also welcome to bring something to share)
- Sturdy walking or hiking shoes, outdoor clothes
- Water bottle
- Sunscreen and insect repellent
- Picnic blanket (optional)
- Gardeners - bring extra seeds to exchange (optional)
